ABOUT THE POSITION: Billing Specialist ensures accurate and timely billing for hospice services, focusing on Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims, while also managing accounts receivable and collaborating with internal and external teams. Maintains insurance documents, payer contracts, and credentialing for facility and providers. Ensures billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Monitors the revenue cycle activities and resolves any issues. Requires knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS Coding Systems as well as claim forms such as CMS-1500 and UB-04. Requires knowledge of government payer sources, the eligibility requirements for billing, coding, and the process for submitting appeals on denied claims. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS degree preferred; medical billing and/or coding experience or certification required; minimum three years’ experience within a healthcare billing role; valid driver’s license, personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation, and evidence of insurance coverage as required by HONI policy required.
